Our Tech group – Hackatorium

We are meeting every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month from 6pm to 9pm

We are enthusiastic about making, building, inventing, mending and solving problems by using a range of technologies. Currently these include:

Arduinos

An Arduino is an open-source microcontroller platform that enables users to create interactive electronics projects. It consists of both hardware (the Arduino board) and software (the Arduino IDE), allowing for easy programming and control of sensors, motors, LEDs, and other components. It’s widely used for prototyping and DIY projects due to its simplicity and flexibility.

Raspberry Pi

The Raspberry Pi is a small, affordable, single-board computer designed for education, hobbyist projects, and prototyping. It runs a full operating system (usually Linux-based) and can perform tasks like a regular computer, while also interfacing with hardware through its GPIO pins for electronics projects. It’s popular for applications ranging from coding and robotics to media centers and IoT projects.

3D Printing

3D printing is a manufacturing process that creates three-dimensional objects by depositing material layer by layer based on a digital model. It uses various materials like plastic, metal, or resin to build complex designs with precision. This technology is widely used in industries such as prototyping, product design, healthcare, and education for creating custom objects and parts quickly and cost-effectively.
